RUGBY Anton Goetz, 86, Rugby, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in a Rugby hospital.

He was born Nov. 27, 1927, to Ferdinand and Mary Goetz, in Balta Township, Pierce County. He joined the Army in December 1950. He served in Korea and was discharged in September 1952. He married Ann Jelsing on May 30, 1953, in Rugby.

Survivors: wife; sons, David, Laughlin, Nev., Douglas, Rugby; daughters, Ruth Walter, of Kersey, Colo., LeAnn Grote, Bozeman, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Leonard, Rugby.

Funeral: Saturday, 11 a.m., Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby.

Burial: Feb. 18, at 11 a.m., North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan.

Visitation: Friday, 3 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, 9 to 10:30 a.m., in Niewoehner Funeral Home, Rugby.

Scripture service: Friday, 7 p.m., in the funeral home.

There will be no visitation in the church.
