WILLISTON (AP) - Town leaders in Williston are exploring a Tax Increment Financing District to fund a downtown parking garage.
The City Commission plans to hold a public hearing on the idea at its next meeting on Tuesday.
The Williston Herald reports the area would include commercial and residential properties in the downtown area.
City departments say at least one multi-story parking garage is needed to meet current and future demand.
A TIF is designed to use future tax revenue to pay for improvements.
