The Ward County Historical Society elected new board members at its annual meeting Thursday.
Newly elected officers include president Bruce Brooks, vice president Angie Thompson, secretary Daniel Clegg and treasurer Bernice Galusha. Other board members include Glynn Breuer, Kim Breuer, Ron Neshem, Peggy Smetana and Chris Simmons.
The North Dakota State Fair Association served the historical society with an eviction notice for its Pioneer Village on the fairgrounds in January. The State Fair Association wants the Pioneer Village off the fairgrounds so it can use the property for expansion and other current needs. The historical society board takes the position that it is under no obligation to move the museum under the terms of a 1966 contract. A hearing is scheduled at 3 p.m. Monday before North Central District Judge William McLees.
