HOME INVASION Last week's daytime burglary of a home in northwest Minot should serve as a reminder that the city continues to evolve. The burglars stole a host of electronic equipment including at least one big-screen television, along with numerous guns. They apparently entered the home through an unlocked back door to the home's garage, according to initial police reports. We don't want everyone to overreact to the brazen crime, but we also hope it's a strong reminder of changing times in the Magic City.?We've always had our share of homegrown criminals in North Dakota, so until we know the identify of the thieves, we aren't necessarily blaming the crime on anyone, in-state or out-of-state. If burglars want to get into your home badly enough, a locked garage door probably won't stop them, but the crime is certainly a reminder to keep all outside doors locked when you're not at home. We're glad no one was injured in the home invasion, and we trust the culprits will soon be apprehended. And we'll double-check our door locks a little more from now on.
