MOHALL Kathryn Ann Erickson, 73, Mohall, formerly of Minot, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at a Mohall nursing home.

Kathryn was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Claremore, Okla., the youngest child of Uriah J. and Lena (Knight) Walker. She was raised as a young child in Oklahoma until both of her parents died, and later in Washington state by her sister.

Kathryn married Ronald E. Erickson on Aug. 14, 1964, in Minot. They raised four children, Julie Streich, Mary Marmon, Karen Erickson and David Erickson, and were the proud grandparents of 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family moved to the Mohall and Maxbass area and was fortunate in having many good friends and neighbors prior to moving back to Minot.

Kathryn, along with good friends from the Westhope, Maxbass and Glenburn communities, founded the North Dakota nonprofit, Pathfinder Services of North Dakota, Inc., in 1987. The Pathfinder Family Center has served families of children with disabilities who required special education services statewide for 27 years. Kathryn was employed as Director of Pathfinder Projects by the nonprofit until her retirement in September of 2006.

Kathryn was proud of having served on the North Central Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, Bottineau, from 1983 to 1995, and on the Central Power Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, Minot, from 1989 to 1992.

Family: daughters, Julie (Carey) Streich, Coleharbor, Mary (Robert) Marmon, Mohall, and Karen Erickson, Perrysburg, Ohio; son, David (Amy) Erickson, Topeka, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and honorary family, Inga Kvelstad and Larry and Donna Cook, all of Mohall.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, on April 1, 2001.

Memorial service: Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, in the spring.
