From Pee Wee hockey in Minot, he joined a men's league in Holland, Mich.

While employed with the Boeing Company in Seattle, Wash., he met his wife-to-be, Heidi, at their church, and they were married in Washington. He later went to work for Johnson Controls Inc. in Holland. He was with the company for 19 years and at the time of his death, was director of sales for automobile door panel products. Three children were born to Andy and Heidi: Cassidy, 19, Carson, 16, and Dillon, 13. He was a member of and very active in the Harbor Reformed Baptist Church in Holland.

Preceding the memorial service held at a larger church, burial took place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Holland.

Survivors include: his wife, Heidi, of 21 married years; children, Cassidy, Carson and Dillon; his parents, Allen and Nada Butz, Minot; brothers, David, Sierra Vista, Ariz., Thomas (Julia), of Zimmerman, Minn.; a sister, Cheryl (Garvin) Osteroos, Divide, Colo.; mother-in-law, Debbie Quire, of Everett, Wash.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Our dear Andy: You did fight the good fight, finish the race, and kept the faith. Good job!
