A Minot man was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly threatening several people with firearms.
The Minot Police Department states officers were called to an alleyway in the 500 block of Eighth Avenue Northeast shortly after 8:30 p.m. after a resident and his friend were confronted by a neighbor with a handgun and shotgun over noise they were making. It was reported that Mathew Abshire, 22, confronted the first victim, a 23-year-old Minot man, with a handgun on his hip and his hand on the gun. Abshire later returned outside and pointed a shotgun at a second victim, a 21-year-old Minot man, and members of his family inside a vehicle he was driving.
When officers arrived Abshire was located in the area and placed under arrest. Abshire gave police consent to search his residence, where two weapons matching the given descriptions were located. Abshire was transported to the Ward County Jail and charged with terrorizing, a Class C felony, and menacing, a Class A misdemeanor.
