Dorinda Johnson, 61, of Minot, died Wednesday Jan. 1, 2014, at her home.
Dorinda was born June 2, 1952, in Goodrich. She was the daughter of Walter and Betty (Papke) Dockter. She grew up and attended school in Goodrich and graduated from Goodrich High School. Dorinda moved to Bismarck and married Terry Johnson on May 27, 1972, in Bismarck. They moved to Mohall in 1975 and then to Minot in 2003. While living in Minot she worked as office manager for LaFleur and Sons Gaming.
Dorinda was a member of the Moose Lodge in Minot. She was also member of the North Dakota Horse Shoe Pitchers Association and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1998. Dorinda and her son Damion were state champions as well as her son Nick. She loved bowling, fishing, camping, and playing pool and bingo.
Dorinda is survived by: her husband, Terry Johnson,of Minot; sons, Damion and Nick, of Surrey; three grandchildren, Tyler, Abigayle and Brandon; three brothers, Garland (Idella) Dockter, of Helena, Mont., Tim (Gail) Dockter, of Bismarck, Burton, of Bismarck; sisters, Karen Dockter, of Bismarck, Joyce (David) Hinson, of Tallahassee, Fla., Rae (Dan) Evans, of Bismarck.
Dorinda was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services: will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 2 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Bismarck.
Burial: will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
