FootballScoop.com, a website that tracks the football coaching carousel, reported Tuesday that Minot State University head coach Paul Rudolph has been offered the offensive coordinator position at the University of North Dakota.
The site keeps its sources anonymous, and representatives from Minot State didn't return messages seeking comment before The Minot Daily News' early New Year's deadline. Messages were left for Rudolph and athletic director Rick Hedberg.
Bubba Schweigert was introduced as UND's head football coach on Friday and has been piecing together his staff. FootballScoop.com linked Southern Illinois linebackers coach Eric Schmidt to the defensive coordinator opening.
Rudolph took over as head coach at MSU in 2007 and has compiled a 33-40 record, including a 2-9 record this season. Before that, he was the offensive coordinator at St. Cloud State and head coach at Upper Iowa.
