A Colorado man was arrested for criminal trespass early Tuesday morning.
The Minot Police Department states officers responded to a report of trespassing and destruction of property in a southeast Minot home shortly before 5 a.m. Police took Rodney Dale Smith, 27, of Colorado Springs, Colo., into custody for criminal trespass.
During transport Smith broke out the rear window of a police vehicle with his feet and escaped. He was captured a short distance later and continued to resist arrest. In addition to criminal trespass, a Class C felony, Smith was charged with two counts of criminal mischief, Class A and B misdemeanors, disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor, escape and preventing arrest, both Class C felonies. He is currently being held in Ward County Jail.
