A Jeep Liberty SUV reported as "going too fast" on U.S. Highway 83 struck two other vehicles in the northbound lane of the highway between the golf course and the main gate of Minot Air Force Base Wednesday shortly before 7 a.m.
According to Deputy Nick Wooster of the Ward County Sheriff's Department, the driver of the vehicle slid on the icy highway and overcorrected to attempt to come to a stop. His vehicle overturned onto its side and then slid "like a bowling ball" through two cars in a line waiting to enter the base before entering the median. All people involved were Minot AFB personnel.
One of the drivers complained of back pain and was transported to the hospital but no serious injuries were reported.
