Jim Kraft, Minot
It is time to restructure the way our city and county taxes are spent. At the time of the last two votes on more sales tax, who knew a large school bond request was looming? The Minot Area Development Corp. has outlived its need. We have more than enough business coming in without taxpayer help. Before we answer what the school needs are, we need to address our high taxes and high cost of living. In addition to higher taxes, the oil business has resulted in higher costs for home and auto insurance plus most all service work. School needs have become a matter of what we can afford. Many in Minot cannot afford any more.
