Albert T. Engberg, 92, Minot, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in a Minot nursing home.
Albert Thomas Engberg was born June 29, 1921, a son of Peter A. and Rose (Woodhans) Engberg, in Tofield, Alberta. He was raised and educated in Williston. As a young man, Albert served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Albert married Helen Pingry. To this union four children were born, Ron, Mike, Judy and Tommy. They later divorced.
On June 4, 1955, Albert was united in marriage to Lila Urdahl Ferring in Minot. They made their home in Williston, where Albert worked in the maintenance department at the Plainsman Hotel. They later moved to Minot, where Albert was in maintenance at the Clarence Parker Hotel and the International Inn. Lila passed away in 2010.
Al enjoyed fishing, camping, working in his garden and woodworking. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
Albert is survived by: Children, Greg (Jan) Engberg, Colorado Springs, Colo., Ron (Vicki) Engberg, Wichita, Kan., Mike (Teresa) Engberg, Arkansas City, Kan., Melody Sorenson, Minot, Judy Woods, Arkansas City, Kan., Barbara (Dayton) Herbranson, St. Cloud, Minn., and Linda (Ron) Ihmels, Bismarck; two sisters, June Iverson, Williston, and Delores Goodwin, Wis.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lila; son, Tommy; brother, Jack; and two sisters, Evalen Callan and Sis Gilbert.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
