Frank Haberlock

Frank Haberlock, 83, Minot, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in a Minot nursing home.

Frank Haberlock was born on April 29, 1930, a son of Andrew and Lena (Walter) Haberlock in Granville. He was raised on the family farm and educated in Granville.

Frank was drafted into the U.S. Army on Nov. 20, 1951. He served his country in an artillery unit as a corporal during the Korean Conflict, receiving the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars and the United Nations Service medal. Frank was honorably discharged on Aug. 18, 1953.

Frank was united in marriage to Dorothy (Hartman) Nordstrom on Dec. 3, 1971, in Minot. They made their home in Minot where Frank worked as a service manager for Don Moe Dodge for many years. Frank, along with Dorothy, also managed the Henry Towers in Minot until retirement.

Frank loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing and fixing things. He was a member and past president of the Rainbow Garden Club and grew delicious vegetables each year, including cucumbers which turned into "Dillies by Dottie." He was also a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge, the Moose Lodge, Eagles Aerie, Knights of Columbus, VFW Club and the Minot American Legion Post #26, where he was past commander, all of Minot.

He is survived by: wife of 42 years, Dorothy, and their beloved dog, Toto, both of Minot; son, Kim (Sandy) Nordstrom, Surprise, Ariz.; two daughters, Coni (Clyde) Sissel, Phoenix, Ariz., and Patricia (Steven) Bennett, Mandan; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Edward, Lyle, Joe and Andrew; and sisters, Kathryn and Magdalene.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, located at 218-1st St. SE, Minot.

Burial: Thursday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan.

Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Wednesday at the church.

Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
