As projected, top seeds Bismarck High (11-0) and Fargo South (8-3) will square off in the state championship for the fourth time in six years.
The matchup features the state's top two running backs in South junior James Johannesson (2,437 rushing yards) and Bismarck senior Ricardo Galindo (1,494) - the only two players to rush for 100 yards against Minot High all season.
Johannesson tore up the Magicians for 315 yards on the ground in a 38-28 semifinal win at the Fargodome.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
East Region No. 2 seed Wahpeton (10-1) snuck out of Herb Parker Stadium last Friday with a 24-17 win over top-ranked Bishop Ryan to make its first Dakota Bowl appearance since 1998. Senior running back Brock Lingen carried 19 times for 125 yards and the Huskies made three separate goal-line stands to oust the Lions.
West Region No. 2 seed St. Mary's (10-1) forced a late fumble before converting a fourth down and scoring the winning touchdown in the final minute of a 12-10 nail-biter at Shanley, denying the Deacons a fifth straight trip to the Class AA state championship. The Dakota Bowl berth is the Saints' first since 1995.
Game time is set for 3 p.m.
