Dustin L. Goettle, 34, Minot, and Cynthia E. Altschuler, 34, Lincoln, were arrested by Minot Police shortly after 11 p.m. Friday. The arrests came as the result of an attempt to stop a motor vehicle in the Holiday Inn Riverside parking lot.
The vehicle exited the scene, traveled east on Burdick Expressway, south on 27th Street Southeast and into Robindale Trailer Court. Goettle, the driver, dropped a gun outside the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers took him into custody a short time later.
Altschuler remained in the passenger seat of the vehicle and was immediately apprehended.
According to a Minot Police report, a search of the vehicle located methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and several open liquor containers.
Goettel was charged with driving under revocation 2nd offense, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia other than marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of marijuana under one-half ounce as driver of a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and open container in a motor vehicle.
Altschuler was charged with possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of marijuana under one-half ounce.
Both methamphetamine charges are AA felony. According to Minot Police, about 38 grams of methamphetamine was seized. Both occupants were transported to the Ward County jail.
