Former Bottineau resident Arline Warner Tinus died Oct. 4, 2013, at the age of 76.
She is survived by: her two sons, Craig and Eric; her brother, Gerald; and sister, Thelma.
While already an accomplished visual artist, she attained her art teaching certification through the college in Minot so she could establish an art program and instruct it at Bottineau High School. After moving to Flagstaff, Ariz., she continued to paint landscapes and became well known for the images she created of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River.
