Lois Schulz, 78, Kenmare, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in a Kenmare hospital.

Lois Kathryn Hilden was born on Jan. 7, 1935, a daughter of George and Elnora (Antonsen) Hilden, in Leif Mountain, Minn. She was raised and educated in Underwood, Minn., where she graduated from high school in 1952.

On Feb. 6, 1954, Lois was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Schulz in Fergus Falls, Minn. They made their home in various locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota until November of 1969, when they moved to Kenmare and purchased the Red Owl Grocery Store. Lois was a homemaker and together they raised their five children. She also assisted Chuck in the operations of the store.

Lois was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Kenmare, where she taught Sunday school, Confirmation and was a leader of a youth group. She was an active member of the church women's group. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Kenmare Ambulance Service for over 20 years.

Lois loved to read and follow her grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by: Husband of 59 years, Charles Schulz; three sons, Larry (Steph) Schulz, Dan Schulz, and Bob Schulz; two daughters, Barb (Tom) Pullen and Becky (Gary) Neshem; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Cathy) Hilden; sister, Mary Ellen Hilden; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob and David; and a sister, Helen.

Funeral service: Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at 3 p.m., at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.

Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare.

Visitation: Monday, one hour prior to the service, at the church
