TIOGA Two people were injured at the intersection of N.D. Highway 40 and Second Street Southeast in Tioga Wednesday at 12:40 a.m., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
A 1997 Dodge minivan driven by Alisa Courchane, 37, White Earth, was traveling northbound on Highway 40. Courchane then took a left turn toward Second Street Southeast in front of a 2005 Peterbilt semi with an empty trailer and was struck on the right side.
The minivan slid into the west ditch south of the intersection. Although airbags deployed, neither Courchane nor her passenger, Marcus Richter, 34, Helena, Mont., were wearing their seatbelts in the accidents.
The minivan sustained $10,000 damage and the semitruck sustained $15,000 damage. Possible charges against Courchane are being investigated.
