LUTEFISK DINNER TO BE HELD SUNDAY IN VELVA CHURCH The annual lutefisk, lefse and meatball dinner will be Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. in Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.
The cost will be $15 for adults and $8 for youth ages 6 to 12. Children age 5 and under will be allowed to eat free of charge. Take-out meals will be available.
A bazaar featuring crafts, baked goods and produce will be held in conjunction with the dinner.
HOLIDAY FEST BAZAAR BEING HELD TODAY IN MINOT The annual Holiday Fest Bazaar will be held today in Congregational United Church of Christ, 430 N. Broadway.
The bazaar will include a bake shop, lefse, craft shop and holiday items. Grandma's attic items and Rada cutlery will also be available.
A luncheon of ribbon sandwiches, homemade soups and pie will be available.

FIRST BAPTIST XYZ TO MEET First Baptist Church XYZ, a senior adult ministry for people in the 50-plus age group, will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 200-3rd St. SW.
Amy Fox, KMOT anchor/ news reporter, will present the program "The Game of Life."
Refreshments will be served.
DATE SET FOR FALL BAZAAR IN DES LACS The annual Des Lacs United Methodist Church fall bazaar will be Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Des Lacs Community Fire Hall.
Crafts, baked goods, card and napkins will be available for sale.
A buffet lunch of escalloped potatoes and ham, including a full salad bar will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade pie and coffee will be served all day.
ROAST PORK SUPPER SCHEDULED IN BOTTINEAU A roast pork supper will be served Oct. 27 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in United Parish, Bottineau.
The cost will be $10 for adults; $5 for college students with current ID and youth in grades 1 to 12. Preschoolers will not be charged. There will be a maximum charge per family of $30.
Take-out meals will be available for $11. For delivered meals, call 228-2800. There will be no out-of-town deliveries.
A silent auction will be held in conjunction with the supper.
ANNUAL ROAST PORK, ROAST BEEF DINNER TO BE HELD IN GARRISON The annual roast pork and roast beef dinner in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison, will be Oct. 20 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
The cost will be $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 6 to 12. There will be no charge for children age 5 and under.
DATE SET FOR ANNUAL BAZAAR IN DEERING The Deering Lutheran Church Women annual bazaar will be Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Deering Community Center.
A lunch of soup, chili and sandwiches, as well as pie and coffee, will be available.
There will be a bake sale and craft sale, plus a raffle for a quilt and $100 gas certificate.
MEN'S GROUP TO SERVE MEATBALL SUPPER IN BOTTINEAU A meatball supper will be served by the men's group of First Lutheran Church, Bottineau, on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Tickets will be $8 for adults and $4 for youth under age 12. Children age 6 and under will not be charged. The maximum cost for a family of five or more will be $25.
Take-out meals and delivered meals will be available by calling 228-2228. There will be an extra charge of $1 per plate for take-out and delivered meals.
DONNYBROOK CHURCH SETS DATE FOR PORK ROAST DINNER A pork roast dinner will be served Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parish hall of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Donnybrook.
Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for children in kindergarten through Grade 6. Preschoolers will not be charged.
Tickets for the dinner and for door prizes will be sold at the door.
GIFTS EVENT TO BE HELD OCT. 26 IN MINOT The Western North Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the WND Synod GIFTS Committee will host "Acts and the Holy Spirit," an education event for rostered and lay members of ELCA congregations Oct. 26 in Bethany Lutheran Church, 215-3rd Ave. SE, Minot.
Sarah Henrich, professor of New Testament at Luther Seminary at St. Paul, Minn., will be the speaker.
Henrich is a member of both the Society of Biblical Literature and the North America Patristics Society. She is also an active docent at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. She has written many adult curricula for Augsburg Fortress, for the Women of the ELCA and for the Select Series.
This event was postponed in April. People should call the Synod Office to verify your registration/attendance.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m. The event begins at 9 a.m. and will conclude by 3 p.m. The $10 registration fee includes lunch.
People should bring their Bibles.

OPEN GATE CHURCH TO HOST GUEST SPEAKER Robert Walter, a representative of Chosen Peoples Ministries, will be speaking at Open Gate Church on Sunday during the 7 p.m. worship service. His topic will be "God's Redemption Plan as Revealed in the Feast of Israel."
This meeting is open to the public. A love offering will be received.
