Archie Milton Orlando Lindseth, the son of Thomas and Mathilda (Bjorsness) Lindseth, was born on Sept. 28, 1922, at Rugby. He died at the age of 90 years on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby.

Archie was raised on his parents' family farm near Silva. He attended school in Silva and graduated from Silva High School. He continued his education at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., until enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps where he became a flight instructor. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Nesbit on March 9, 1944, in Blue Earth, Minn. Following their marriage the couple lived in Jamestown, then at various Army Air Corps bases. In 1946 the couple moved to the family farm south of Silva where they made their home, raised their family and farmed. With his interest in flying, Archie purchased his own airplane and when the roads were closed from time to time, he would help his father deliver the mail by plane. He would also take neighbors to and from Rugby when they needed groceries or had a doctor's appointment. In 1975, the couple moved into Rugby and spent the winters in Arizona. He was very active and involved with the community and with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On each of his grandchildren's 12th birthday, he would take them on a trip to different places. During the summer months, every morning he would have coffee on the deck with his sons and others that stopped by. He loved traveling, driving, flying and would read to stay informed. He was a member of the Silva Lutheran Church until its closing, then became a member of First Lutheran Church in Rugby. He served on the Pierce County Selective Service Board, Good Samaritan Hospital Board, and for 56 years on the First State Bank of Harvey Board of Directors.

Archie is survived by: his sons, Charles (Davlyn) of Rugby, Richard (Denise) of Wichita, Kan., and Jon (Julie) of Rugby; eight grandchildren, Lisa Lehmann, Kim (Peder) Colbenson, Ginger (Travis) Frantsvog, Eric (Susan), Aaron (Mary), Brian (Janelle), Andrew and Thomas; nine great-grandchildren, Justin, Alexis, Sara, Derek, Matthew, Presley, Burke, Jackson and Kierstin; a brother, Clinton of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Thelma Lunde of Grand Forks; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Marjorie (Oct. 9, 2006); a son, Thomas; a sister, Ruth Koracin; an infant brother, Earl; and his parents.
