Amanda Hall is visiting Minot for the second time. This year, she is here to sing the role of "Countess Rosina" in the Western Plains Opera's production of "The Marriage of Figaro" by Mozart. Hall, a brown-haired soprano in just her fourth season as a professional, was last here in 2010 to play the lead in the WPO production of "La Traviata." Hall is a rising star in the opera world, singing and recording a growing number of the great soprano roles and songs in the U.S. and Europe. She said that the arias or songs of the Countess in "Figaro" are among the "greatest hits" in opera.
