September’s super culture

August 29, 2013
By ARLENE SAUGSTAD , Minot Daily News

September in Minot can, this year, be best described as "super." As a starter, there will be a fundraiser at our Roosevelt Park Zoo on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m., called Wild About Wines. So, if you are 21 or over, just get yourself ready for a super fun evening. Wherever you land at that time in the Roosevelt Park Zoo, you will run into wine and a vast array of delicious foods. The Sweet & Flour Patisserie will have spent hours putting together extraordinary goodies, according to those in charge of the eatables. And - as a bonus for wine sipping and pastry nibbling - you and the animals can chit-chat. Adding to the wildness of the evening will be real, live music. If you hold a membership in the Zoological Society, it will cost you $25, while non-members can enjoy the wildness for $35. Everyone will be contributing to the zoo, which took quite a thrashing during the 2011 flood. Mark your cultural calendar right now on the fifth of September for a Super event in Roosevelt Park Zoo's premiere fundraiser.
