Tillie Dybing, of Detroit Lakes, Minn., formerly of Minot, will celebrate her 100th birthday Saturday, Aug. 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. at her apartment in Detroit Lakes. A short program will be at 2 p.m. Cards may also be sent to her at: 307 Lake Ave., #8, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501. Her children, Myron Dybing, Detroit Lakes, and Susan Berke, of Plymouth, Minn., will host the open house. The family requests no gifts.
Tillie was born Aug. 28, 1913, to Andrew and Elizabeth Bauer, of Harvey. She graduated from Harvey High School. Tillie and George Dybing were married Nov. 29, 1934, and moved to Minot in 1941. She worked at Bader's Department Store for 27 years. She also worked at Buttrey's clothing store and volunteered at the Trinity Gift Shop in Minot for many years. Tillie's husband, George,died in October 1997. She continued to live in Minot until the flood of 2011 came, when she moved to Detroit Lakes, where her son and his wife live. She lives in a senior apartment building that at one time was an elementary school.
She has four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
