Underpass work

July 31, 2013

Contractors work Tuesday around the Sixth Street Southwest underpass near the Minot Public Library, where the intersection is being rebuilt. Traffic through the city has been disrupted since construction started on the major arterial. Capriati Construction Corp. is performing the $4.9 million work, which includes a new roadway, water and sewer line replacement and storm sewer. The new, wider street will have increased clearance to allow fire trucks to pass under the railroad bridge. Additional construction of a pump station, scheduled for next year, will alleviate flooding of the underpass during heavy rains.
