Eugene Keller

Eugene C. Keller, 75, Minot, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his residence.

Eugene was born on Nov. 4, 1937, a son of Joseph and Mary (Schnellbach) Keller, in Karlsruhe. He grew up on the family farm in Karlsruhe. He graduated in 1956 from Karlsruhe High School.

Eugene was united in marriage to Cecelia Grinsteiner on June 17, 1958, in Balfour. Following their marriage, they made their home in Minot. Eugene was employed by I. Keating Furniture World and Sears until 1967, at which time he started Keller's Carpet Service.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, of which he was appointed a Grand Knight. He was also a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and the Eagles Aerie, all of Minot. He was an avid fisherman. All of his children and grandchildren loved to fish with him. Eugene loved to cook and garden. He also enjoyed playing pinochle, and was an avid bowler.

Eugene is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Cecelia Keller, Minot; sons, Jeffery E. (Pam) Keller, Minot, and Thomas P. (Monica) Keller, Minot; daughters, Marie A. (Rob) Stevenson, Fargo, Barbara J. (David) Anderson, Minot, Laura L. (Dave) Nelson, Grand Lake, Colo., Cheryl A. (Mark) Flemming, Omaha, Neb., Julie L. (Quincy) Wolfe, Las Vegas, Nev., and Joan M. (Corey) Ryle, Bellevue, Neb.; 18 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Leo (Beverly) Keller, Lake Audubon, Leonard (Annette) Keller, Dickinson, and Michael (Kim) Keller, Grand Forks; sisters, Agnes (Evan) Elvestad, Foxholm, and Dolores "Lori" Christenson, Palmdale, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph Keller; and brothers, Robert Keller, Richard Keller and Alvin Keller.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: Monday, July 8, from 2 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil prayer service: Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
