FARGO (AP) - Fargo City Administrator Pat Zavoral says a citizen task force will be formed within the next couple of weeks to discuss options for a new city hall.
Zavoral tells The Forum newspaper that city departments are crammed into the 24,000-square-foot City Hall, and a 40,000-60,000-square-foot facility is needed. He says adding that much space could cost as much as $12 million.
Mayor Dennis Walaker says he supports a new home for government in North Dakota's largest city. He says the City Hall built in the 1960s has infrastructure problems and has lost its usefulness.
Zavoral says former Mayor Bruce Furness will head the task force on options for a new city hall.
