MINOT AIR FORCE BASE The commander of the 91st Operations Support Squadron at Minot Air Force Base was relieved from his duties Thursday, said Capt. Genieve David, chief of Public Affairs at Minot AFB. She said a new squadron commander will begin Friday.
Lt. Col. Randy Olson was relieved as the squadron commander by Col. Robert Vercher, commander of the 91st Missile Wing, because of a loss of confidence in Olson's ability to provide necessary leadership, David said.
She said Olson's removal was the result of base inspections that identified some deficiencies and organizational processes.
The operations support squadron, a unit of the 91st Missile Wing, conducts training, ensures crew proficiency and reinforces standards for the whole operations group.
Lt. Col. Trevor Hazen will assume command of the 91st Operations Support Squadron today, David said. Hazen is coming to Minot from another base.
