WILLISTON - After two season-opening blowout losses to Bismarck, the Minot Metros rebounded with a pair of wins Monday at Williston.
Minot's junior American Legion program scored in each of the first five innings in a 6-3 game-one victory, then crushed Williston 18-7 in game two.
"I thought we played pretty well," Metros coach Jason Steele said. "We did all the little things right today that we didn't do in Bismarck. We made them pay on their mistakes and we put the ball in play with runners in scoring position. We just played a lot better situational baseball."
Alex Arrayan picked up the win in game one and Dalton Cooper went 2-for-4 with a home run. Tyler Mosser paced Minot (2-2) with a 2-for-3, three-RBI performance in the second game.
Austin Semenko and Brady Miller tallied two hits apiece in game two for Williston.
The Metros travel to Beulah on Wednesday.
