Due to water over the roadway, the North Dakota Department of Transportation and North Dakota Highway Patrol closed N.D. Highway 14, six miles south of Towner, Saturday morning.
Officials said fluctuating water levels make it difficult to predict when and where water will go over a roadway or recede. Motorists should check road conditions before traveling and use alternate routes where roads are impacted.
The following highways were being affected by flood waters Saturday, but remained open, with traffic speeds reduced:
U.S. Highway 83, nine miles north of Max.
N.D. Highway 53, east of Max.
N.D. Highway 200, four miles west of Hurdsfield.
N.D. Highway 200, four miles east of Hurdsfield, where a temporary grade raise is allowing a single lane of traffic.
