A 37-year-old Minot man died in this crash on U.S. Highway 83 about four miles south of Minot just before 12:30 p.m., Monday. He had been hauling a red 2006 Dodge 3500 pickup from Parshall to Minot on the flatbed of a 1996 Freightliner truck when the truck exited the highway, entered the median at an angle and vaulted over a crossover. The truck ripped open the grass, spraying it across the southbound lanes, as the vehicle hit the ground on its front and flipped over onto its top. The Dodge pickup had separated from the flatbed during the incident but landed on its wheels before being flattened by the semi-truck as it landed on top of its front end. The man, who was wearing his seatbelt, remained in the cab of his truck until he was extricated by attending firefighters. The name has not yet been released and further details are pending.
