Minot State University junior goaltender Wyatt Waselenchuk was named the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division I Player of the Year on Wednesday.
Waselenchuk is the first MSU player to win the award, which is voted on by ACHA coaches.
"Wyatt is very deserving of this award," MSU coach Wade Regier said in a press release. "He is one of our hardest working players on and off the ice. Every time he is in net he gives us a chance to win."
Waselenchuk, a native of Port Moody, British Columbia, went 19-2 with a 1.94 goals-against average in 2012-13, helping the Beavers to their first ACHA national championship.
