KENOSHA, Wis. - Minot State University sophomore Kowan O'Keefe shot a 1-over 73 in the final round of the NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Super Regional.
O'Keefe finished the tournament tied for 47th at 8-over par after entering the round tied for 63rd out of 108 participants at The Club at Strawberry Creek.
Starting on the back nine, O'Keefe got off to a rough start by bogeying the par-4 10th and double-bogeying the par-3 15th. He birdied the 17th before dropping a shot on 18 for a 3-over 39 on the back nine.
O'Keefe was four over on his round after bogeying the 3rd hole, but finished strong with birdies on the fourth, sixth and seventh holes. He pared the final two holes to finish 2-under on the front nine.
"I'm incredibly proud of the way Kowan has performed this season," Minot State coach Dwight "Chipper" Farrell said in a press release. "He has played a consistent game all year and has done a lot of good things for himself and the university. Hopefully next year we can be here as a team and do even better."
O'Keefe finished 21 shots behind champion Robby Hughey of Central Missouri.
