May 13 - Pesticide Introductory Basic Core Training, statewide via Internet videocast, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This training is designed for commercial or public applicators/dealers who are new to pesticide certification in N.D. It will cover basic pesticide safety and handling practices, as well as relevant laws and regulations as they pertain to the distribution and use of pesticides. This training is not category specific and also will describe the certification process and how to prepare and take exams to obtain a pesticide certificate. May 16 - Square Foot Gardening Class, North Central Research Extension Center, Minot, 6 to 8 p.m. Perfect gardens for those who live in town and have a small yard or for those who don't have the time to manage a big row garden. NDSU Extension Agent Paige Brummund will show participants how to create and care for a square foot garden.
