Dolly Lindsey, 88, of Crosby, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at St Luke's Hospital in Crosby.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 2 p.m., in Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, with Pastor David Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery near Crosby. Visitation will be today, May 3, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Stakston-Martin Funeral Home in Crosby, and also Saturday, one hour before the service, at the church.
Dolly was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Colgan, the daughter of John and Annie (Winden) Knudsvig. She was raised and educated in the Colgan area until moving to Crosby to work.
In 1944, Dolly married Leland Lindsey in a double ring ceremony in Plentywood, Mont. They raised four sons. Dolly worked at J.C. Penney and the Cenex station as a bookkeeper for many years before retiring.
She loved to bake, crochet, embroider and garden, but most of all, she loved taking care of her family.
Dolly was preceded in death by her son Dean; daughter-in-law Karen Sylte Lindsey; granddaughter Tami Lindsey McDonald; her parents; and four siblings.
She is survived by: her husband of 68 years, Leland; sons, Gene (Rubi) Lindsey, of Williston, Daryl (Darlene) Lindsey, of Crosby, and Gary (Janette) Lindsey, of Williston; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Stakston-Martin Funeral Home of Crosby is in charge of arrangements.
