SMITHVILLE, Mo. - The Minot State University women's golf team finished 10th at the 13-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships after shooting a team-best 358 in the final round Sunday. It was the Beavers' final event of the season.
Augustana College (S.D.) ran away with the team title, finishing 61 strokes ahead of second-place Minnesota State-Mankato. Four Augustana golfers placed in the top five individually, including tournament medalist Allie Ostrander.
"There are a lot of solid teams in the NSIC and a few great teams," MSU coach Whitney Aberle said in a press release. "Now that we have seen what these teams can do, we know the level we need to get to in order to be successful."
Junior Rebecca Heinitz had the Beavers' low round Sunday with an 85, but Mackenzie Nagel was MSU's top finisher for the tournament. Nagel's four-round total of 346 put her in 18th place.
