Minot Mayor Curt Zimbelman will host a press conference in the City Hall council chamber at 2 p.m. Friday. Although no significant flooding is anticipated in the immediate Minot area at this time, the announced purpose of the press conference is to inform Minot and area residents of what to expect and how local entities are prepared to deal with higher water elevations through the spring and early summer.
According to a release issued by the City of Minot, various agencies have been in communication with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, National Weather Service and representatives of the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency over the past several weeks.
Participants at the press conference are to include Mayor Zimbelman, representatives from Gov. Dalrymple's office, Ward County, the City of Burlington and the NWS.
