BISMARCK (AP) - North Dakota's Senate has shot down a measure to allow bottle rocket sales in the state.
The Senate voted 29-17 on Tuesday to keep the 4-year-old ban in place.
Eye doctors prompted the Legislature to ban bottle rocket sales in 2009, saying the fireworks cause eye injuries. An effort to overturn the ban failed in 2011.
The current law still allows people to possess and shoot off bottle rockets but businesses in North Dakota can't sell them.
