Helen Wahl, 96, McClusky, died March 21, 2013, at the Baptist Home in Bismarck. Services will be held Tuesday, March 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Baptist Home, Bismarck. Burial will be in McClusky City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home, Bismarck.
Helen was born to Albert and Lydia (Bender) Neuharth Nov. 19, 1916. Her mother passed away in 1918 and her father then married Marie Bender. Helen grew up in McClusky along with six brothers and six sisters. Helen married Reinhold Wahl in March of 1939. They lived on farms south of McClusky, then moved to rural Lincoln Valley and then into the town of McClusky in 1947. She worked as a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her children. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.
She was a member of the McClusky Baptist Church, where she enjoyed the activities and her participation in the ladies groups.
She is survived by: her sons, Russell (Ardith), Bismarck; Jim, Bismarck; and Paul (Debbie), Eden Prairie, Minn.; daughters, Marlene Unruh, Bismarck; Janice Wahl, Minot; Sandra (Angel) Perez, Plymouth, Pa.; and Daphne (Dan) Vainonen, Jamestown; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Emil, of Victoria, Minn.; Robert (Irene) and Herbert, both of McClusky; Alvin (Eunice), Bismarck; her sisters, Edna, McClusky; Matilda Holcomb, Great Falls, Mont.; Marian (Bob) Branson, Las Animas, Colo.; and Evelyn (Carl) Peter, Valley City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reinhold, in 1988; her brothers, Edwin and Elmer; and sisters, Clara Feichert and Gladys.
