MSU football team adds six recruits
The Minot State University football program announced the signings of six players Tuesday, bringing the 2013 recruiting class to 29 athletes.
Here's a look at each of the Beavers' new signees:
- Jesse Ili (6-0, 220, LB), Tulare, Calif. - Ili was a two-time all-conference linebacker at Citrus College (Calif.). He played fullback last season at Fresno State, an NCAA Division I program.
- Grant Jansen (6-3, 220, DE), Roseville, Calif. - A four-sport athlete at Roseville High, Jansen was named team MVP his junior and senior seasons.
- Michael Jenkins (6-1, 190, S), Orlando, Fla. - Jenkins helped University High School to a Class 8 District 3 championship in 2012. He also competed in track and field and lacrosse.
- Ryan Yates (5-11, 205, LB), Clearwater, Fla. - Earned all-conference honors his senior season at Countryside High, which lost just one game in the last three seasons.
- Donnie Boutte (6-2, 315, OL), Thief River Falls, Minn. - Boutte was named all-conference in each of his two seasons at Northland Community College (Minn.). He didn't allow a sack during his freshman year.
- Kenny Green (6-1, 205, TE), Seattle - Green was a four-year starter at Renton High, where he earned all-conference honors at tight end. He was also an honorable mention all-conference pick at defensive end.

WSC signs Colo. switch hitter
Brendon Diaz, a Sterling, Colo., product, has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Williston State College.
The 6-foot switch hitter was an all-conference selection in baseball and football, and helped his American Legion baseball team win a state title last summer.
"I'm very excited to be a college athlete with a very good program," Diaz said in a press release. "(WSC) has many opportunities and a great facility."
Diaz, also a 3.4 GPA student, hopes to major in radiology.

Tetons eliminated at nationals
SALINA, Kan. - Shelton State was just too much for Williston State.
The fifth-ranked Buccaneers kept the Tetons at arm's length throughout the second-round NJCAA tournament game, beating WSC 72-57 on Tuesday night.
Shelton State (33-0) took advantage of Williston State's 32 turnovers, turning the Tetons' giveaways into 27 points.
Jazzmine Robinson had a team-high 18 points for Williston State, which ended its season with a 31-4 mark.
