Power was disrupted for an hour in portions of Minot Tuesday, from 8:43 to 9:43 a.m.
According to Xcel Energy, 1,581 customers were affected by the outage, due to a "cable fault." The source, who is based in Fargo, said that the majority of the outage was found along First Street Southeast between 10th and Seventh Avenues Southeast.
The Ward County Courthouse, The Minot Daily News, the Town and Country Center and the Minot Police Department all reported outages, which shows that the disruption was not found only within the cited area. The discrepancy could be explained to changed and expanded lines put in place when previous infrastructure was affected by the 2011 flood, said the Xcel spokesperson.
