Minot Daily News

According to the Williston Herald, Detective Cory Collings of the Williston Police Department confirmed the shooting death of a 28-year-old man outside Heartbreakers night club in Williston early Saturday morning. The shooting took place shortly before 1 a.m. Officers found the victim lying in the street. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward at Mercy Medical Center.

The Williston Police Department declined to provide information to The Minot Daily News about the alleged shooting Saturday. However, on its website, the Williston Herald reported receiving police information Saturday that stated the victim and a few friends had been at another night club, Whisper's, when a verbal argument initially started. Reportedly, the victim went back into the liquor establishment and left a short time later with friends. It was then that another altercation took place outside Heartbreakers.

The Herald stated that the suspect, who fled on foot, is decribed as a white male, 40s, short dirty blonde to brown hair, about 5 feet 9 inches and 160 to 170 pounds. The Williston Police Department said it will release further details about the shooting on Monday.
