Sandra "Sandi" Lee Dilland, 64, of rural Tioga, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Tioga, with Pastor Sandy Anderson officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, south of Tioga. Friends may sign the online register and give their condolences at (www.fulkersons.com).

Sandra "Sandi" Lee Dilland was born June 30, 1948, in Milltown, Wis., to James and Delores (Olson) Koolmo. The family moved to her dad's hometown, Tioga, in the early 1950s at the beginning of oil activity. Sandi attended school in Tioga and graduated from Tioga High School in 1966. She then earned her elementary education degree from Minot State College. She returned to live in Tioga and first taught in Ray. The next eight years were spent either teaching or substituting at Tioga's Hillcrest Elementary School.

Sandi was united in marriage to Gerald Dilland on Dec. 18, 1971, at Zion Lutheran Church, Tioga. Moving to the Dilland farmstead south of Tioga, she began farm life. Sandi was a constant helper with duties ranging from machinery repair, driving truck, hauling hay, painting buildings to mowing the yard. She loved watching the wild birds and animals that frequented the farmyard and her Sheltie, Callie, was more than just a pet.

She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and after her marriage became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Tioga. She was elected to the church council, was actively involved in WELCA, helping and serving at all church functions, and made many quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

For years Sandi was a member of the Tioga Ladies Bowling League and had been very active in the Tioga TOPS Club. She enjoyed reading, needlework, crafts, gardening, trying new recipes and especially entertaining and visiting friends. Together, Gary and Sandi took many skiing, hiking and camping trips. The many cruises they had taken in recent years offered new experiences and the opportunity to meet wonderful people.

Sandi will forever be missed by the many who loved her: Her husband of 42 years, Gary, of Tioga; aunts, Hildred (Chester) Prose, Lila Jean (Harold) Leiferman, both Minneapolis, Minn., Marion Gesche, of Eau Claire, Wis.; uncle, Vern (Arlene) Olson, of Milltown, Wis.; brothers-in-law, John (Barb) Dilland, of Farmington Hills, Mich., Ray (Connie) Dilland, of Georgetown, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce (Marlow) Nelson, of Powers Lake; nephews, Paul, Mark and Aaron Nelson, Erik, Steven and David Dilland; nieces, Lori (Dilland) Petty and Amy (Dilland) Iverson; and godchild, Kya (Blestrud) Schroeder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Delores Koolmo; and her in-laws, Palmer and Myrtrice Dilland.

Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Tioga on Friday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and an hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
