Adeline Schmidt, 74, Minot, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva.

Adeline Janice Kunkel was born Aug. 16, 1938, the daughter of Edward and Amanda (Wentzel) Kunkel, on the family farm near Glenburn. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Lansford High School in 1956.

Adeline met Cecil J. Schmidt in 1955 and on June 7, 1957, the couple married in Minot. They made their home in Fargo, White Shield and in Minot throughout the years. Cecil passed away Feb. 2, 2006. Following her husband's death, Adeline continued to reside in Minot.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved being outside with her flowers and plants.

Surviving family includes: children, Joe (Kelly) Schmidt, Minot, Gerald (Patty) Schmidt, Fargo, Teressa (Bill) Brock, Minot, Dr. Jim Schmidt, and his special friend, Krista Lundeen, Minot, and Rose (John) Garrett, Minot; grandchildren, Megan, Marlee, Josie, Taylor, Vaughn, Isaac, Vanessa, Marissa, Alyssa, Karver, Mycah, Devyn, Ivie, Emma, Taylor and Adelynn; sisters, Mabel Hills, Sioux Falls, S.D., Betty (Lloyd) Clark, Vancouver, Wash.; sister-in-law, Theresa Kunkel, Vancouver; a special family friend, Fr. Steven Kranz, Richardton; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil; two infant children; sister, Alma (Guy) Frounfelter; and brothers, Lester (Ann), Fred, Delbert, Alvin, Leonard, Edward, LeRoy and Bob Kunkel.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Today, Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Today, Monday, at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
