Walmart's North Dakota State Giving Program announced that North Dakota non-profit organizations have until March 1 to apply for grants in this year's first giving cycle.
"The Walmart Foundation North Dakota State Giving Program has a mission to support important community service programs that are helping people overcome challenges and live better," said Ryan Irsik, senior manager of public affairs for Walmart. "We encourage non-profit organizations throughout the state to apply for a Walmart grant before the March 1, application deadline. We're proud to provide vital support for those in need and look forward to partnering with North Dakota non-profit organizations to make a real difference in 2013."
The state giving program awards grants of $25,000 or higher to non-profits that strive to provide opportunities to improve the lives of individuals. To be considered for support, prospective grantee organizations must submit applications through the Walmart Foundation State Giving Program's online grant system. Applicants must have a current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in order to meet the program's minimum eligibility criteria. The program has two application cycles per year. Additional information about the program's funding guidelines and application process are available online at (www.walmartfoundation.org).
In 2012, the Walmart Foundation's North Dakota State Giving Program awarded a total of $200,000 in grants to North Dakota non-profit organizations such as the Northlands Rescue Mission, among others.
