Barbara answered God's call to come to him on Oct. 30, 2012, in Arlington, Wash., at her daughter Malinda's home.
She was born on May 28, 1949, in Bottineau, where she was baptize and then confirmed in Minot in St. Paul Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. After getting married in 1967, she moved to Washington where she was an Avon representative before starting her career with GTE Directories.
Barbara was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1992 and left the workforce in 1994 on long-term disability and became an active participant in the MS Society. In January 2012, she was diagnosed with bladder cancer. After numerous treatments and hospital stays Barbara spent her remaining time being cared for by her children with the help of hospice care from Providence Medical Center.
Barbara was a positive, upbeat woman and was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.
Barbara was an only child and was preceded in death by her father, James Jones; grandparents, Marvin and Laura Kitzman-Ellis and Clinton and Viola Jones; godparents, Martin and Lois Kitzman and nine uncles and two aunts.
She is survived by her mother, Lorraine Jones, of Minot; husband, Terry Jacobson; children, Susan Jacobson, Steve and Melissa Jacobson, Malinda and Josh Davis; grandchildren, Emilio Jacobson, Tynishia Walker, Nicole Jacobson, Troy Davis, Cameron Davis; great-grandson, DaShawn Jacobson; and aunts, Lyla Bertsch, Ardis Miller, Elaine Tong; and numerous cousins.
