BISMARCK - If you want to know about the oil and gas development in North Dakota, one source that is available is the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division's website.
The website, located at (www.dmr.nd.gov/oilgas/), has rules and regulations, the number of rigs actively drilling in the oil patch, where they are drilling, confidential well lists and information for surface and mineral owners.
"We have a lot of great free features on our website," said Alison Ritter, public information officer for the N.D. Department of Mineral Resources in Bismarck.
The Oil and Gas Division is the regulatory arm of the N.D. Department of Mineral Resources. Its division regulates all the oil and gas drilling and production in the state.
She said one of the features of the website that she often advises people to go for information is the map server. The map server tells "where everything is," she said.
"If you want to know where a rig is, it's on the map server," she said.
"We've got a couple different ways to get there," she added.
"We have our daily active rig list. Every day that is updated. I put out a daily activity report every day so if you want to know where new permits have been issued or some producing wells that have been completed,"
"We have great free resources on our website. We post monthly production on our website," she said. It shows what a well produced for that month.
"You can do an Adobe search on the monthly production report," she added.
