The Magic City Jazz Festival will be held at Minot State University in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall Friday, featuring a concert at 7 p.m. The event will feature the Minot Public Schools jazz bands (Jim Hill, Memorial and Erik Ramstad middle schools, Central Campus and Magic City Campus), The Swing Band of Minot, and guest artists Denis DiBlasio and Mike Vax.
Clinicians, including Vax, trumpet; Denis DiBlasio, baritone sax and flute; Cordell Bugbee, retired Minot band teacher; and Adam Estes, MSU jazz ensemble director, will work with groups all day, followed by the concert.
Other schools participating in the festival include Garrison High School Jazz Band; MSU Jazz Combo; Williston High School Jazz I, II and 7th Hour Jazz; Williston Middle School; Surrey Senior High and Junior High Jazz Bands, and Surrey Senior High Vocal Jazz.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for ages 7-12.
