God called Elsie Myrtle (Gulbranson) Skavlem, 90, home on Jan. 24, 2013. She is at peace after suffering with Alzheimer's for many years.
She was born Aug. 1, 1922, in East Grand Forks, Minn. She married William Skavlem (from Oslo, Minn.) in 1941, and they moved to Tacoma, Wash., in 1951. He preceded her in death in 2007.
She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Tacoma, and enjoyed picnics, family get togethers, square dancing, cards, and visiting her many friends.
She is survived by: children, Diane (Roy) Erdahl, Denise Cramer and Roger (Patti) Skavlem; grandchildren, Sheila (Leon) Kolschefski, Rod Erdahl, Naomi Erdahl, Eric Cramer and Andy Austin; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Iner (Arlene) Gulbranson and Maynard (Esther) Gulbranson; and sisters-in-law, Gladys Filipi and Mabel Gunderson; and brother-in-law, Andrew Skavlem.
Funeral service: Will be Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 2 p.m., in Mountain View Valley Chapel, Tacoma, Wash.
Memorials: May be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
