Congress, without the help of Rep. Rick Berg, finally came together to protect the middle class.
Congress passed a bipartisan compromise that extends much needed tax cuts for middle class North Dakotans and local small businesses.
Unfortunately, Berg, who represented North Dakotans, voted, in effect, for a $2,200 tax hike on middle class families in the midst of a slow economic recovery. I regret that Berg was unable to put partisan politics aside at the end of his term.
I am excited to continue the work of North Dakota Fair Share to give every North Dakotan a fair shot. The coalition that has been built right here in Fargo will continue to work on behalf of middle class North Dakotans and small business owners.
